There are several features available, histogram, depth cut, time-frequency, time-frequency risk, value and erase. They are available in the bar at the top left as in the figure below:
Some features are only available for certain types of data. In this case, the bar is grayed out at the top left as shown in the screenshot below.
In addition, for some of the features you must choose certain parameters such as depth, frequency or even the time scale for example.
It is possible to make a histogram on the values located inside a zone defined by the user. A histogram is a graph showing a statistical distribution over given intervals.
Allows you to draw a depth cut. The first click launches the start of the segment, a second to stop the first path and go in another direction. To complete the path, just double-click. The results of the depth cut will be superimposed on the bathymetry curve.
The time-frequency functionality searches for values for different time steps and frequencies to produce a 2D graph similar to a spectrogram at a selected depth.
Time-frequency-risk also called soundscape cube (Simard, Y., Bandet, M., Gervaise, C., Roy, N., & Aulanier, F. (2016, July). Soundscape cube: A holistic approach to explore and compare acoustic environments. In Proceedings of Meetings on Acoustics 4ENAL (Vol. 27, No. 1, p. 070012). Acoustical Society of America. https://doi.org/10.1121/2.0000319) allows you to view the data in the form of a time-frequency-risk or quantile cube for 17 predefined points in the St. Lawrence. These 17 points correspond to the position of hydrophone stations deployed by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO. This functionality is only possible for risks and noise quantiles.
Allows you to choose a point on the map and find out its value and position. This value appears at the bottom right.
By clicking on this function, it is possible to close the graphs: histogram, depth cut, time-frequency, time-frequency risk or to erase the displayed value.
The scale of values is located at the top right of the interface. This scale allows you to select the minimum and maximum values that you want to display on the map. The scale is separated into clickable colored rectangles :
It is then possible to reset the initial values by simply clicking on the scale.
